Hey, that is all i am going to post...i will stop for now...Hope you find my blog useful in a way or another...i have covered chapt 7,8,9 i guess its time to study hard for our EOY... Do leave a tag when u visit =) bye bye...
Evaporation
| 8:02 AM
Evaporation(a) Occurs at any tempt(b) Slow process(c) take place only on liquid suface(d) No bubbles formed(e) Tempt may change(f) heat energy is supplied by the surrounding
Boiling & Condensation
| 7:33 AM
Boiling:a liquid is changed to a gaseous state(water vapour)Why does the outside of your cold glass have water droplet? Why is the mirror in the shower fogged up after you step out?
Condensation:(a)reverse f boiling point, from gaseous to liquid state(b)thermal energy is given out
Melting & Solidification
| 6:50 AM

Melting
(a) a process where solid is changed to liquid state
(b) Melting point of ice is 0ºC
Solidification
(a) reverse of melting, from liquid to solid state
(b) Since the melting point of ice is 0ºC, solidification starts to occur
(c)When solid melts the strong intermolecular bonds needs to be broken, to do so energy is needed. That is why there is no change in the temperature during melting.
(d)When liquid molecule come together & solidfy, intermolecular bonds are formed. THERMAl energy is therefore given out
chapter 9, Internal Energy
| 6:34 AM
(an eg of potential energy, Compressed & stretched)
Internal Energy:
-consists of Kinetic & potential energy
Kinetc Energy:
(a)Due to vibration of particles
(b) Higher tempt, more vigorous the particles is
Potential Energy:
(a) Due to the stretching & compressing of the intermolecular bonds as the particles vibrate
(b) Amount of p.e is dependent on this 2 factor the Force & the Distance the particles are apart
